             Guardrails protect you from falls that can seriously injure or even kill. The amount of protection guardrails provide depends on how they are constructed and maintained. Most guardrails are built of strong materials and are usually solid when first put up. As time goes by, however, guardrails are often abused, weakened, broken, or moved and not replaced.

             Although most portable electric tools have an equipment grounding conductor and many are double insulated, these methods are not foolproof. A grounding wire could break or a cord could become defective. Using a GFCI overcomes these insulation problems.

             Conservative estimates say there are over 823,000 forklifts in the United States and 1.2 million powered industrial truck operators. The need for training is apparent when one considers the injury statistics, number of operators, number of pieces of equipment and the annual economic and human losses.
